Have you seen the latest list of new inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? It was great to see the Dave Clark 5 on the list, finally!
I've written on this before, so I'm not going to rehash old arguments, but despite toiling in the shadows of the more respected members of the British Invasion, the DC5, like the other bands in the first wave of the British Invasion, left their mark on many of the artists we enjoy today.
With their election to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the DC5 are finally getting their due. I hope the attention that comes from this announcement will make the group's music more available in 2008. "The History of the Dave Clark Five" is an excellent compilation, but it's time for the group's albums to be reissued and given a proper treatment.
